One’s Purpose

For whether is greater, he that sitteth at meat, or he that serveth? is not he that sitteth at meat? but I am among you as he that serveth. Luke 22:27 KJV

Meat means the flesh of a person’s body.

Serveth means to work for or to bestow the labor of obedience and mind in the employment of another.

Christ came in the flesh to do the will of the Father.

As followers of Christ, it is unbecoming to seek worldly ambition of being the greatest.

We are to have heavenly ambitions as a follower of Jesus.

The One who took it upon Himself the form of a servant and humbled Himself to the death on the cross!

Satan will continue to try to hinder us and keep us from doing God’s will and gaining eternal happiness.

That is why we must watch and pray to keep from being drawn into those sins.

If we were left to ourselves, we would fall. But we are kept by the power of God, the willingness of Christ to serve and the granting of salvation.

Our Lord gave notice of a very great change of circumstances now approaching.

Just like the disciples, we are to expect that our enemies will be fiercer than they have been, and that we will need weapons. Weapons that prepare us for a spiritual warfare.

The sword of the Spirit is the sword with which the disciples of Christ must furnish themselves.

That sword is the Word.

God’s love for us empowers us to serve others.

Let us not be of the flesh but a servant like the Lord.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we know it can sometimes be hard to serve, but let us become more like You. Letting nothing keep us in a flesh state, but willing to express the same love You gave us to all of those around us. A willingness to serve.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
