Acts 8:35 KJV
Sometimes God opens a door of opportunity for us to spread the Word.
When we least expect it, someone may ask us what the meaning is regarding a passage of scripture they were reading.
Be it in the workplace, grocery store, in our neighborhoods or even when we are travelling.
There is always going to be someone who needs our knowledge of the Word and the Lord desires to use us to spread it.
With the Holy Spirit as our guide, we can do it.
In this passage, Phillip was a follower of Jesus and was guided by the Holy Spirit.
He was told where he needed to go but did not know what to really expect once he got there.
He was being obedient to his calling.
When he arrived, he met an Ethiopian official that was travelling in his chariot.
The Ethiopian was reading a passage from the Prophet Esaias.
He was looking for spiritual guidance.
The Holy Spirit had put Phillip in the right place at the right time.
Phillip started the conversation by asking him if he understood what he was reading.
The Ethiopian admitted that he did not understand it and welcomed Phillip’s spiritual insight.
Phillip realized this was the person that the angel spoke about.
He sat down with him and read the passage of Scripture and told him what it meant.
How good it is to be able to tell someone about the good news of Jesus.
It is a blessing when we allow the Holy Spirit to guide our steps and give us the words to share with others.
To help lead and guide others to the Lord.
We may not be called to travel like Phillip, but what a blessing it is to be used of the Lord.
To be in the right place at the right time.
There is someone out there that would love to hear the good news of what the Word means to you and how it has changed your life.
The Holy Spirit will give you the right words to say.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, guide our steps today. We never know when someone will need help in understanding Your Word. The need the hope that can only come from Jesus. Praying that they receive the Word. And when it happens, we can go on our way rejoicing. Endeavoring to help another soul in need of hope.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
