Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. Ephesians 5:25 KJV
It is great to hear about married couples that have been together for many years.
How their love for each other has stood the test of times.
About husbands that would not hesitate to show love for their wives.
Even when times would get hard.
They stood by the vows of “for better or worse, for richer or poorer, in sickness and in health, to love and to cherish, till death us do part.”
Although this passage is speaking about marriage, it also has another message.
It also relates to the union between Christ and man.
His love for us and the love we should be showing Him.
Christ’s love for us is sincere, pure, and constant.
He loves us despite our failures.
And there will be some.
That is when we put our trust in God.
He gives us the wisdom, knowledge, and strength we need to fulfill our vows.
Vows of a human nature and a spiritual nature.
Both are to be, “til death us do part.”
The results being that the worst evils will be prevented.
The many painful situations will be avoided.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we Thank You for the love of Husbands. The marriage bond that joins a man and woman joins two hearts that when they are in You, cannot be broken. When we give our lives to You, we also have a marriage bond. One that if we stay rooted and grounded in the Word, it will never be broken. In both cases, may our loyalty pass the test of true love.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
