And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. Revelations 20:12 KJV
There have been many who have served time in jail.
They have been falsely accused and sentenced for a crime they did not commit.
Some have spent years in prison, only to finally be released.
All because the guilty person or persons were finally caught.
This type of injustice does not occur in God’s courtroom.
Another person’s guilt, and their penalty, will not be something we face.
Nobody will be able to claim that they got a “bad rap.”
In today’s Scripture reading, we see where a great day will come when every person is to be judged.
No matter their status in life, we all shall stand before God, our Supreme Judge.
Keeping in mind, that there is a book of remembrance, both good and bad, that He will be looking at.
So no one will be falsely accused of anything He presents to us.
Every one of us will recollect all our past actions, even though we have long forgotten about them.
So, before we are called to stand before the Lord someday, we need to accept His pardon.
An acceptance we need to do, before it is too late.
This pardon only comes when we accept the Scriptures.
The book of the Scriptures is the rule of life, and it represents the Lord’s knowledge of us all.
That when we accept the Word, it makes it possible for Him to declare our repentance, faith, and good works.
Showing the blessings of the new covenant we have with Him.
Making it possible for those who are justified and acquitted by the gospel, to be justified, and acquitted by the Judge.
We will have nothing more to fear from death, or hell, or wicked men.
For all these will be destroyed and eternal life is ours.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that death is our final separation of sinners from You. Let our biggest concern be to have the Scriptures condemn us now so we can change our ways. So, when Your judgment comes, we can be found to be living according to Your Word. We want to hear You say, “Well done.”
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
