A fool’s mouth is his destruction, and his lips are the snare of his soul. Proverbs 18:7 KJV
Foolishness is characterized by someone who is wrapped up in themselves and their own thoughts.
They tend to be overly optimistic about their own views.
Making it impossible for them to see their own weaknesses.
A weakness that causes them to speak in ways that are unbecoming.
When we are in the presence of someone who is acting foolishly, we are not to answer to them.
If we do, in their own eyes, they think they are wise when they are not.
It also prevents us from becoming like them.
The main reason why the Lord has told us, “He who guards his mouth preserves his life, but he who opens his lips shall have destruction” (Proverbs 13:3 NIV).
Let our words be few.
We can prevent many of our troubles when we learn to control our tongues.
All we must do is think before speaking.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, help us to think before we speak. Let our words be few. Keep them few and sweet. Knowing that when we follow Your guidance, we will mind what we say, and things will work out better in the end.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
