Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1 Thessalonians 4:18 KJV
Grief for the death of a loved one or friend is human nature.
We may weep for our loss, though it may be their gain.
Christianity does not forbid, and grace does not do away with our natural affections.
We are to support one another in times of sorrow.
Trying to keep each other spiritually motivated.
Knowing that death may take our precious loved one, but we can take joy in knowing that the Lord is there to comfort us.
The Apostle Paul has told us that when Jesus comes again, as He promised in John 14:3, we will join with those who have gone before, and together we will live with Christ forever.
The Word gives us comfort and reinforces in our hearts the hope of the coming again of Christ.
Making it somewhat easier for us to grieve, knowing that as our loved ones may die, but they have gone to Heaven.
God’s people never say, “Goodbye.”
They say, “See you later.”
Because at the trump of God, the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air, and so shall we ever be with the Lord (vv.16-17).
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, You are always with us when we feel we in a valley low. Always there in our sorrow to help us stand more on Faith. The Faith that helps us remember that death is not an end, just a resting moment until we all meet again in Heaven. Let us be there for one another with words of comfort and encouragement.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
