No One Wants Trouble

Read: Proverbs 15:24-30 KJV

He that is greedy of gain troubleth his own house; but he that hateth gifts shall live. Proverbs 15:27 KJV

Remember when we were growing up, there were candy dishes in the house?

It was nothing for us to try to take all the favorite pieces and not share them.

We were considered greedy and got in trouble.

That’s not the end of it.

Greed is also shown when we have or show a selfish desire for wealth and other possessions.

Our desire for these things has a tendency to make us cruel to others.

The end result of it will cause trouble and those around us will have a bad opinion of us.

It is not uncommon for any of us to let greed take over. Something that can ruin us.

The blessing is, we can change this when we set our affections on things above.

The Lord is the support we need to combat any afflictions in our lives.

We gain all the wisdom we need when we govern ourselves according to His Word.

There is nothing more delightful than to hear a good report of salvation received.

The Lord desires for us not to be greedy of gain, which causes us trouble.

But to remember that He has told us in Philippians 4:19 that He would supply all our needs according to His riches in glory.

We don’t want to be the one that is caught in the powerful grip of  greed.

Be the one that is caught up in the powerful grip of the Word.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we are to be more concerned about how we can praise You and not how we can gain more for ourselves. May we continue to see that greed enslaves the soul and can cause us nothing but pain. We know that faithful and loving disapproval of our ways helps our spiritual lives. A change that will lead to eternal life. Thank You Savior.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
