I always like to see The Foundation For A Better Life TV Commercial where a young man gives up his seat on the bus to an elderly lady.
Not only was it a sign of respect, but it showed how he was willing to deny himself and follow that which he had been taught while growing up, maturing in life and desiring to do things the right way.
That is what the Lord explained to the people who had gathered, at His calling, and in the presence of the disciples.
An explanation that still applies to us today.
That if we are serious about following His ways:
- We must deny ourselves and our way of thinking things should occur.
- Take up the cross, by turning our lives over to Him and being willing to endure all that comes our way.
- To follow Him and faithfully do His will.
We all have a call on our lives and it is up to us to decide if we will commit our whole lives to Him, trust Him and follow Him to the end as one of His disciples.
What will your decision be?
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we thank You for taking the time to explain to us what we would need to do in order to faithfully follow You. We vow to put our personal desires to the side, take up the cross and do Your will. We dedicate ourselves to serving You Lord.
