This is an Amazing Covenant – One Without Age Limits

Read: Genesis 17:15-22

As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Genesis 17:4 KJV

We are never too old to be used of God.

Abraham and his wife Sarah are prime examples of this.

When God promised them that they would have a son, Abraham laughed in unbelief.

He “fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?” (Genesis 17:17 KJV).

Even when Sarah was told, she responded the same way.

She “laughed within herself, saying, After I am waxed old shall I have pleasure, my lord being old also?” (Genesis 18:12 KJV).

As we grow older, we sometimes begin to wonder if the Lord can fulfill His promises to us.

If we are still important to Him.

Our mentality of being humble is not like it once was.

There are physical problems that limit our ability to do certain things.

Through faith we can overcome these obstacles.

From the time we gave our lives to God, a covenant was formed.

Anything He desires to be done in our lifetime; He will give us what we need to accomplish it.

He can do more than any of us could imagine.

Just like He asked Sarah, He is asking us, “Is any thing too hard for the LORD?” (Genesis 18:14 KJV).

We all know that the answer is “NO, of course not!”

None of us will ever be too old for God to use us.

To be called for His purposes.

As God adds years to our lives, ask Him to add life to your years.

Enjoying every moment until the final victory of life is won.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, there is a purpose for our lives. Ones that sometimes we feel we cannot accomplish because of our age. Help us to see that we are never too old. You will always give us what we need to accomplish it. With prayers of faith, we know we can always request the guidance we need. We want to make a covenant with You. To be available until the final victory in our lives has been won. Thank You Savior for all the blessing You bestow on us.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
