Greet one another with an holy kiss. 2 Corinthians 13:12 KJV
How much do you know about a “holy kiss”?
It’s not like the kiss you would give your spouse or significant other.
But it is one that we all can give each other.
A “holy kiss” is associated with the peace and unity given by the Holy Spirit to the congregation.
When we read the Bible, we see where it was custom to greet one another with a kiss.
It was a way of showing that all were equally accepted and loved.
That they were loved not only by God, but also by one another.
God’s desire for us all.
In the New Testament we learn that the apostles command us to greet each other with a holy kiss.
A kiss that is also known as the “kiss of love”.
Take the time to read Romans 16:16 KJV, 1 Corinthians 16:20 KJV, 2 Corinthians 13:12 KJV, 1 Thessalonians 5:26 KJV and 1 Peter 5:14 KJV.
There you will find the instructions He gives.
Many churches have a time in their service when they do a “meet and greet” moment.
The congregation takes the time to greet visitors, as well as show love to one another.
It is usually shown with a kiss on the cheek, a hug, or a handshake with eye contact and kind words.
All great ways to show love and let visitors know how happy we are they decided to come fellowship with us.
A time to say hello ad show love to other church family members.
As children of God, we know that He is the Author of Peace and the Lover of Harmony.
He loves us and desires that we exhibit peace and harmony also.
The love we receive from Him should be easily shown to others.
We are one in the Spirit.
No matter where we are, reflect the love of God.
No matter the church we are members of, reflect the love of God.
Remembering the way we carry ourselves should always reflect the love of God.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that we are to walk in Your ways. That the holy kiss of peace and love is to abound in our lives. Making it possible for us to show the same to others. We want the fellowship of the Holy Ghost to surround us. Thank You for the love and peace You show us. For our ability to show it to others.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
