The thoughts of the diligent tend only to plenteousness; but of every one that is hasty only to want. Proverbs 21:5 KJV
There are times when we know we must plan to accomplish something.
Depending on what it is, it may take days, weeks, months, or years.
It is wise to make careful plans and use good judgment, but we should also be including the Lord in our thinking and pray about our decisions.
Never forgetting that the Bible encourages us when it comes to wise planning.
In the book of Proverbs there are many statements that directs us to lay crateful plans.
In today’s verse, He is telling us that, “the plans of the diligent lead surely to plenty, but those of everyone who is hasty, surly leads to poverty” (Proverbs 21:5 NIV).
There is no doubt that the Lord is pleased when we think ahead, but He wants our planning to include Him.
Just like James said, Life is a “vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away” (James 4:14).
We cannot say we will be here even 10 years from now or even tomorrow (Luke 12:20).
What we can say is, “If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that” (James 4:15).
This is wise planning because we are acknowledging the Lord in our preparations for the future.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, You had a plan that include all of us when You sent Jesus to save us. Let us remember to include You in all our plans. We should not try to run ahead of You but move as Your Spirit guides us. Knowing we are being led on a path that brings peace, love, and a successful end.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
