Powerful Life Links -This is the Time Acknowledge Yours

Read: Ephesians 4:1 / Acts 11:19-26

I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called. Ephesians 4:1 KJV

As a member of any family, we have a link to a multitude of people.

Because of this link, we are expected to carry ourselves in a certain way.

To live and walk in a way that honors our name and our ancestors.

We want to represent our family in the best way possible.

We read in the New Testament the name Christian was initially given to the disciples in Antioch.

It was given to Barnabas and Saul by those who knew their behavior (Acts 11:26 KJV).

The people eagerly learned the Scriptures that they taught them for a whole year (Acts 11:26 KJV).

Barnabas and Saul were disciples.

They knew what it meant to be a part of God’s family.

That is why it was in their blood to tell the good news about Jesus everywhere they went (Act 11:20 KJV).

Everywhere He placed it in their heart to go.

The same holds true for all believers.

We have a link to Jesus Christ, our Savior.

The link was established when we were saved by His anointing blood.

When we took the time to accept Him as our Lord and Savior.

That is when our spiritual family name became “Christian.”

Which means we are members of Christ’s family.

That as part of Christ’s family, our reputation is one that should be maintained.

His teachings should follow us wherever we go.

And it should be our desire to represent our family well.

We are to carry ourselves like the early disciples.

Everywhere we go, we can spread the Word of His goodness.

Teaching all who will listen about the Lord and what it means to have Him in their lives.

About the Kingdom and all its Glory.

In our teachings, we are not to be prideful, but humble in our ways.

Knowing that meekness is an excellent disposition of the soul.

We are to show each other love (Ephesians 4:2 KJV).

“Agape Love.”

The same love which is the love that is of and from God (1 John 4:8 KJV).

It is a love that keeps us from being easily provoked or offended.

We are to always be the ones that want our link with the Savior to never be broken.

The ones that want “to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace” (Ephesians 4:3 KJV).

Making it easier to forgive others and ourselves.

Let us carry our God-given name in an all-pleasing manner.

Showing that He is the One we place all our hope in.

All our actions should bring honor, not shame, to the Lord.

A never-ending desire to tell all we can about Him.

About the blessing He has for us while we live and when we die.

How Heaven is the goal He has for us all.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that when Jesus died on the cross it was for us all. That You had a desire for us to be a part of Your Spiritual family. A link that once we acknowledged would bring joy to our lives. We give our lives to You. Let Your Spirit and Grace continue to fall upon us. Let us be the vessels You need to teach others of Your undying love. We want to walk worthy in the calling You have placed on our lives.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
