The God of Abraham, and of Isaac, and of Jacob, the God of our fathers, hath glorified his Son Jesus; whom ye delivered up, and denied him in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go. Acts 3:13 KJV
A miracle is something that is manifested through Divine intervention in our human affairs.
Something beyond the reach of human action and natural causes.
Many have experienced miracles.
We are delighted when they happen but tend to let other things take their place.
One such occurrence is seen in Acts 13.
After the Lord had ascended to the Father, the Apostles Peter and John were going to the Jerusalem temple to pray.
There was a man who was unable to walk and was asking for money or food. For some type of assistance.
Peter told him to look at him.
Saying to him, “Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk (v.6).
Peter took him by the hand and helped him get up.
The man leaping up stood, walked, and entered with them into the temple.
He entered walking, leaping, and praising God.
When the people saw it, they were filled with wonder and amazement.
That is when Peter gave all praise unto the Lord.
He refused to receive any honor, except as the Lord’s undeserving instrument.
Instead, he reminded them that Jesus was the one Moses had told them about.
Moses had said, “A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me” (v.22).
Also reminding them of God’s promise to Abraham regarding Jesus.
Saying “And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed” (v.25).
That it should not have been a surprise to them regarding the miracle.
They had been told, “Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days” (v.24).
After being told this, they probably remembered that he had previously told them that they were the ones who “delivered up, and denied him [Jesus] in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let him go” (v.13).
The apostles did not leave it there.
They reminded them that the Lord was sent to bless them.
That they need only to turn away from their sins.
That they still had a chance to make things right.
The same holds true to this day for each of us.
Miracles are still being performed in our lives.
The Scriptures give us the authority to claim our miracles.
Every situation in our lives has an applicable promise in the Bible.
Acknowledge the Lord and what He has done for us.
Watch and see the miracles that come.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, miracles happen in someone’s life every day. Help us to remember that the same Divine miracles that You performed in the Bible are still available to us. We may not see it when we want to, but we know it will come. All we must do is trust and believe. And when the miracles happen, let them become a testimony that others may receive the same when they put their trust in You. Thank You for the miracles seen and unseen. We know You are a miracle worker. That is why You sent Jesus. Thanks again, Father.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
