Praying For Each Other

Read: Colossians 1:6-14

For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding. Colossians 1:9 KJV

There are so many situations we can find ourselves in.

A time when we need to see or hear something that inspires us to press on in life.

Heartfelt words of inspiration and encouragement.

Both can be found in cards, letters, and on social media sites.

These are just some of the ways to show how much we care and let someone else know we are there for them.

Cards and letters are still good ways to show that we are there for each other, but social media has become the quickest way to express our support.

With social media, the post is read and the button to share is quickly pressed. Sending to countless numbers of subscribers.

There is a pouring out of prayers and uplifting scriptures that help to aid those who need a word of comfort.

It is amazing how we may not even know the person or persons, but the response shows how much we really care for each other.

It means so much to those it was sent to, but also can give inspiration to someone who just happens to read them.

Everything was being done with the hopes “that [they] might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding” (v.9).

That is what the letter Paul wrote to the people of Colossae was meant to express (v,2).

The words he wrote were written to bring hope.

That they would continue to prosper in fruitfulness, knowledge, strength, endurance, and patience.

That it be done with joyfulness (vv.10-11).

Can you image how good it made the people of Colossae feel knowing that someone was concerned about their well-being?

To know that someone was continuously praying for them.

We all find comfort in knowing that someone cares about us.

Paul’s words of prayer were giving them the strength, they needed to stay steadfast in their faith in Christ.

That is what a word of encouragement brings when we show our love and care to those in need.

We all need prayer, no matter the circumstance.

Times can be hard.

Our hope begins to fade.

Sin and other circumstances make it where our spiritual strength must abound.

The grace of God in the hearts of all believers is the power of God.

There is glory in this power.

Let us stay in constant prayer that all will be filled with the knowledge and wisdom of God.

That we understand what His will is for our lives.

That no matter where we live, our prayers are always needed.

That our words of love mean so much to the person(s) reading them.

Every day, let us give thanks that the Lord is there for us through everything we face in life.

Providing us with the comfort that we need.

Things will get better.

Never stop praying for each other.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, by faith, we have been redeemed and by faith we are able to come to You in prayer. Each day You bring someone to our minds that need encouragement. There will be times when we hear about someone in need of prayer. Be it someone who needs forgiveness of sins, divine healing or one of the many spiritual blessings You desire for our lives. Prayer is always the key. Let us be the one of the many ‘prayer warriors’ that prays and believes You for supplying all our needs. Thank You for providing us with the comfort that we need.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
