Man can have a problem with pride.
We all should take pride in what we do. But when pride becomes a form of high-spiritedness, it has a way of distorting how we see ourselves.
When we view ourselves in a mirror of self-importance, it gives a misleading or false impression.
To challenge God’s judgments, and think we are far from them, is a sign that we are at the door of pride.
Humility offers a more realistic view.
We can only find true humility when we give our lives to God.
To overcome the effects of pride is to humble oneself and follow the ways of the Lord.
There is nothing wrong with receiving praises for achievements and success.
The challenge is to stay focused on the One who has called us to follow Him and enabled us to receive such praise.
He that understands God’s Word shall defeat pride and continue to humble himself in all that he does.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Blessed are those that give themselves up to the will of God; for He knows what is good for us. Lord help us to be humble as we go through this day. Giving You honor in what we do or say.
