Rest is Easier Than You Think

Read: Psalms 127:1-5

It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. Psalms 127:2 KJV

It is not always easy to determine what is causing us to lose sleep at night.

Many times, it is associated with stress and anxiety.

It can be due to the fear of not meeting the goals we have set, worrying about what others think, or trying to live a fast-paced life.

Times when we need to let it all go and learn to relax.

To put all our burdens and all our problems in God’s hands.

He can solve them all.

The psalmist is telling us that in all our affairs and business, be it family or personal, we must depend on God for our blessings.

That “Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it” (v.1).

Meaning that all our hard labor and our struggling are useless if we don’t let God provide what we need to make it through it all.

He has told us to cast all our cares upon Him, because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7).

It can be difficult because we all feel we can do things on our own.

That we have the best plan for what we need to do.

Causing us more anxiety and stress.

We need to acknowledge that we need guidance and help.

To get some rest and begin to be more productive in our lives.

That is what the Lord desires for our lives.

He doesn’t want us to continue to stress over things but, grant sleep to those He loves (Psalms 127:2).

God’s love and care is there for all of us.

Throughout the Scriptures, he is constantly inviting us to release our anxieties and things that are keeping us up at night, to Him.

That by us doing this, we will find the rest and graces He has already put into place for our lives.

Vow today to give it all to Him and get some rest.

One of the many “Divine Blessings” He has for us.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we all have a list of the things we want to accomplish in life. Daily we look at them and stress to figure out how we will do them all. Help us to remember that asking for Your guidance should be first on it. Knowing that when we do, we will receive a “Divine Blessing” that will take away any anxiety or stress we feel. Giving us the ability to sleep at night. Thank You for leading and guiding us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
