And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience. Romans 5:3 KJV
We all can suffer and face difficulties in our everyday lives.
We complain and struggle to figure out how we are going to handle them.
In Romans 5:3-4, Paul is teaching us that the situations we face in life happen to bring out the godly character that lies within.
That the more we complain about them, it hinders our growth.
We must remember that our troubles did not take God by surprise.
He knows about them long before they happen.
Everything that happens has a purpose in our lives.
That is why it is to our benefit to pray, affirming our faith in God.
To express our confidence in His loving purpose for our lives.
Trusting God to work out His perfect will.
And most of all, to praise Him – even before He acts.
When we do this, we give God the ability to help us make the changes needed in our lives and in our circumstances.
It helps to relieve us of all the pain and frustration we are feeling.
We learn to “glory in tribulations” because we know that our “tribulations worketh patience” (v.3).
Patience gives us the strength to overcome.
With patience comes wisdom.
The more patience we have results in a more glorious outcome.
We learn to how to overcome.
It is a blessing to know that God has given us the gift of wisdom and patience to match any difficulty we may face.
Gifts we receive every day.
We just have to trust Him to work out His perfect will for our lives.
That through Him, we have the victory.
He is in control.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we do not always realize why You are allowing some things to happen in our lives, but we will understand it later. We need to put our trust in You. Remembering that through all our tribulations we are learning to be patient. Helping us to make the needed changes in our lives. Learning how not to complain but to listen to what You are saying. Letting the powerful grace of Your love work on our behalf. Thank You Savior.
