Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds. Colossians 3:9 KJV
We all know that lying seems to be the way of life for many people.
Some do it at the drop of a hat.
We all know that this should not be the case of those who are followers of Christ.
Ephesians 4:25, tells us that truth-telling should be a mark of anyone who is walking with the Lord.
To lie, means we are following Satan’s example.
John 8:44 tells us, “for he (Satan) is a liar and the father of it.”
We cause ourselves more harm when we lie.
Self-disclosures and honest confessions are what we all need to do.
They are the quickest ways to put ourselves back under the wise counsel and care of the Lord.
There is an absolute need for us to mortify sin, because if we do not kill it, it will kill us.
That is why it is such a blessing that the gospel changes the higher, as well as the lower powers of the soul.
It supports the rule of right reasoning.
By listening to the Holy Power within, we have the best guide to the rightness or wrongness of our behavior.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, help us to come to You when we know we have not been truthful about something. We know You would never lie. Give us the courage to confess our sins and avoid finding ourselves in that situation again. We know You will help us to walk in a way that we will feel no need to cover up anything. Thank You Savior.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
