We all have sinned, no matter who we are, and needed to be forgiven.
Because of this, we should forgive others who have sinned against us.
“For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.” (Matthew 6:14-15 NIV)
Forgiveness means giving up the suffering of the past and being willing to forge ahead with far greater potential for inner freedom.
There are powerful health benefits that go hand-in-hand with the practice of forgiveness.
Benefits, physically and Spiritually.
The parable of the unmerciful servant shows us how being forgiven of the Lord and not forgiving someone else is not acceptable.
That the results are just as harsh as those we inflict on one another.
Forgiveness eases stress.
Jesus died for our sins and as we think about the depth of God’s forgiveness towards us, we will want to extend forgiveness to others.
Genuine forgiveness lifts a lot of burdens.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we know we should be treating each other in a godly manner. Let us seek more and more for the renewing grace of God, to teach us to forgive others as we hope for forgiveness from Him. Praying that we all continue to look for ways to express love and forgiveness.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
