Read: John 7:33-39
In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. John 7:37-38 KJV
There are many songs that we hear that reference water and spiritual strengthening.
They come from what we read in the Bible and personal knowledge.
In the Bible, we read that during the Feast of Tabernacles, a Levite priest would pour out water.
It was to symbolize God providing water for Israel in the wilderness.
“In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried” out to the congregation.
He said, “If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.”
That, “He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water” (John 7:37-38 KJV).
Jesus spake this “of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive” (John 7:39 KJV).
The same holds true to this day.
Our thirst means we have a powerful desire for the spiritual blessings that only the Lord can provide.
We desire to receive all that He has in store for our lives.
We want the Spiritual Satisfaction that only He can provide.
In every believer, the Spirit is a cooling, cleansing water.
One that is dwelling and working within each of us.
The Spiritual influences we feel are like a river of flowing water.
One that has a flow that is plentiful.
So plentiful that it is like a strong stream that can cover all our doubts and fears.
Giving us a picture of that which calms our spirits and gives great relief.
Soothing, because we know they are the streams that have been flowing from our Glorified Redeemer throughout the ages.
The ones that have been flowing from every corner of the earth.
Because of how glorious this is, we should be anxious to receive Him.
To run and tell others of His goodness.
The Savior desires that we know we can still find joy in Him.
He is always there for us.
He is a forgiving Savior and wants us to come to Him.
We can get everything we need when we confess our sins (1 John1:9 KJV).
Today is a day of feasting.
Be filled with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:8 KJV) and let Him satisfy your thirst until it overflows.
Receive your blessings.
The many blessings that lead to the building of a great spiritual life.
Ones where we cannot wait to see what comes next.
A life that is filled with so much joy, we cannot wait to tell others about Him.
To see the changes in their lives happen.
Rejoicing with them as the Holy Spirit brings joy to their lives too.
Giving thanks for all the Lord has done and will do in our lives.
