Today’s Reading: 2 Peter 3:11-18
Today’s Verse: “But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:18 KJV
GROW!
It means to increase in size, develop, or become more advanced and mature over time.
It has even greater meaning to the Body of Christ.
As believers we are encouraged to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:18 KJV).
The Father wants us to mature spiritually. To grow in grace. He wants us to become more like Christ through His power. To let His kindness change our hearts and actions more every day.
He wants us to grow in knowledge. To learn more about Jesus and His teachings through the Bible and prayer. He wants us to deepen our personal relationships with Him.
Spiritual growth is for our protection. It keeps us safe from false teachers and bad choices. That is why Peter told us that we are to be on our guard, so we are not led astray by the errors of lawless people (2 Peter 3:17 KJV).
Take the time to study God’s Word daily. The best way to shape our hearts and minds. Take the time to pray. The more we talk to God to ask for His help and strength is our greatest source of wisdom. We learn to rely on the Holy Spirit for personal guidance.
When we do things God’s way, we let Him work inside of us rather than trying to change on our own.
Through it all, may we never forget to give honor and glory to Christ for all that He is forever doing in our lives.
“To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen” (2 Peter 3:18 KJV).
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we pray that we may know Jesus more and more with every passing day, growing in both grace and the knowledge. We thank You for Your amazing grace. We don’t want to lose sight of spiritual growth, but to seek Jesus with a true passion. Give us the hunger to read the Word. To learn Your truth and walk closely by the guidance of Your Holy Spirit. Change our hearts day by day. We want our lives to reflect Your love and character. To You be all the honor, majesty, and glory.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
