Time to Thankfully Submit

Read: Romans 12:1-4 / Psalms 107:8-22

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Romans 12:1 KJV

Thankfulness is truly seen when we acknowledge the benefits received.

It is even seen when we express it for the things yet to come.

It was important to the writer of Psalms 107.

He wrote, “Oh that men would praise the LORD for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” (v.8).

He even told us how we should do it.

He said, “And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare his works with rejoicing” (v.22).

We may not have the offering of ceremonial sacrifices as they did in the Psalmist’s days.

But as believers we are still to dedicate ourselves to God and show thanksgiving for all He has done and will do for us.

That is why our belief in this passage is important.

The Apostle Paul was telling the people about the importance of, and by the mercies of God, the need for them to present their bodies as a living sacrifice.

That they be holy and acceptable to God.

As Christians, our bodies are the temples in which the Holy Ghost dwells; given of God (1 Corinthians 6:19,20).

The Father desires for each of us to speak of His goodness.

To do all that we can to take the gospel to a lost world.

To give Him praise.

The Lord offered Himself for our sakes.

Even more reason for us to give of ourselves; all that we are, all that we have and all we can do.

With loving gratitude, giving thanks to the Father for all He has done.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, with thankful hearts we commit ourselves to You. Spirit, soul, and body. May we continue to receive Your mercies and do thing according to the Word. Use us in any way You choose.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
