Waiting and Watching: Great Hope When It’s Hard

Read: Habakkuk 2:1-5

For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry. Habakkuk 2:3 KJV

Quick responses to our questions are what we desire.

The suspense has us nervous about what may happen.

What our next steps should be.

While going through the test and trials of life, that is how we sometimes feel.

That is where faith plays a large part in how things end.

When we pray and wait on the Lord, He renews our strength.

Making it possible for us to press on through it all.

Habakkuk found himself going through some things and had to learn to wait in faith (Habakkuk 2:1-4).

He prayed, questioning God’s judgment and timing.

The Lord answered him saying, “Write down the revelation and make it plain on tablets so that a herald may run with it” (Habakkuk 2:2 NIV).

That, “the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay” (Habakkuk 2:3 NIV).

This holds true for our requests too.
We should write down exactly what it is we desire from the Lord.

It is a way to make sure when we forget what we asked for.

Anytime we tell the Lord about our issues and requests, we must wait for the answers.

His answers are always given by His Word, His Spirit, and providences.

His responses may not come in the timeframe we would like, but it will come,

And when it does, our wait will be greatly satisfied.

So, when we find ourselves beginning to worry or lose patience in a situation, remember what the Lord has said.

We have the assurance that He will answer all our prayers when we wait and never lose faith in Him.

Trust and believe in Him.

Everything God has promised us, we will receive.

Take the time today to write and declare what you desire from the Lord.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, there are no mountains to tall or any problems to small that You can’t handle. We must wait, trust, and believe. You always make a way for us. Giving us the strength, we need. We are not giving up. We know that they who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. We know we will make it. Thank You Savior.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
