Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 22:20-30
Today’s Verse: “O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD.” Jeremiah 22:24 KJV
Jeremiah spoke of the curse God had commanded (Jeremiah 22:30 KJV). Coniah was to be written down as “childless.” This meant that none of his descendants would ever sit on the throne of David or rule Judah again.
“O earth, earth, earth, hear the word of the LORD” (Jeremiah 22:24 KJV). It was a three-fold cry from the prophet in obedience to God.
Today’s reading has a strong and serious message. It focuses on divine judgment and the importance of following God’s rules.
This verse is a call to the physical world and all the people to pay close attention to the seriousness and final decree that is coming from God.
His repeating the word “earth” three times is showing us the extreme importance and solemness of the message.
God is calling upon all of us to witness the judgment that is falling on the royal line of Judah. To always hear and heed to God’s unchanging standard of justice.
Let it be our desire that we die in Christ. We want it to be well with us wherever we die, even if it may be in a far country.
Daily remembering that those who hear the voice of Christ, and follow him, have eternal life. They shall never perish, neither shall any enemy pluck them out of His almighty hands.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, You are the Creator of all things. We acknowledge Your Supreme power. We command the ground we walk on and our atmosphere to align with Your divine will. Let every blocked path, delayed miracle, or withheld portion that was meant for our destiny be blessed and submit to Your way. Continue to open the hearts of people everywhere to hear Your truth and turn to You. We stand on Your authority. We declare that our environment will favor us. That Your Word will forever prevail.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
