When You Have the Right Perspective, Uplifting Peace Abounds

Read: Philippians 4:6-12 / Matthew 8:23-27

Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you. Philippians 4:9 KJV

There are days when we feel like storms are forever raging in our lives.

Tragedies are occurring to us, to someone close to us or to someone we hear about on the news.

Our thoughts and fears can consume our minds to the point we focus on all the possible bad outcomes.

Literally or figuratively, it is human nature.

Those are the times when we must remember what God has told us in Philippians 4:9 KJV.

To think on “those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.”

Even the disciples, who had Jesus right there in the boat with them, were afraid (Matthew 8:23-27 KJV).

Jesus used the calming of the storm to teach them who He was.

How He was there is a powerful God who cares for them.

That He is always there for them.

The same holds true for us all.

So, anytime we feel like the storms are not going away, remember as His child our souls have been anchored in the Word of God.

An Anchor that keeps us steadfast and unmovable despite all that is going on.

Prayer is the key.

Reading the Word, and our faith in God are the only ways to overcome anything we face in this lifetime.

Our moments of peace will always come when we remain anchored to the truth that He is with us no matter how fierce our storm is.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, we know that by Your free mercy all has been given to us. That we have no reason to fear the storms that may rage in our lives. We know that they are already taken care of because we have put our trust in You. We are steadfast and unmovable the more we keep our trust in the Word. Thank You for being the Anchor on which we can always depend.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
