Wonderful Reasons to Be a Part of His Mission

Read: Matthew 4:16-22

And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. Matthew 4:19 KJV

For many there will always be someone by whom they are inspired.

The one that will bring out the best in them.

They know from them they can get help and good advice.

Someone they would gladly follow.

Desiring to use their understanding and personal experience.

Knowing that what they learn will help them to progress in life.

To happily be able to share their knowledge and experiences with others.

When the Savior began to preach, He began to gather disciples.

They were going to be hearers of the Word.

And afterwards would be preachers of His doctrine.

They would be witnesses of His miracles.

Then they would testify to others concerning them.

While walking by the sea of Galilee, He saw two brothers.

One was Simon, called Peter and the other was named Andrew.

They were fishers casting a net into the sea (Matthew 4:18 KJV).

Carrying on the family business.

How interesting it is that Jesus took an interest in these men.

He saw that they did have the ability to be disciples for Him.

“He saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men” (Matthew 4:19 KJV).

He did the same with James and John, who were also brothers (Matthew 4:21 KJV).

The Savior has given us the same opportunity.

He is not looking at where we come from.

He is not looking at our status in life.

The plan is for us to obtain the knowledge and experience needed to survive.

He desires to make fishers of men available all over the world.

That is why he has encouraged all of us to heed His call to discipleship.

To be one of the many chosen to model His life.

To be the one to lovingly help others come to know Him.

He is looking for those that truly have a loving heart to help others to repentance.

To follow Him in Spirit and Truth.

The Savior is pleased when we live a holy life.

He does not want us to be idle because we are then subject to the temptations of Satan.

Forgetting about the call God has placed on our lives.

We are followers of Christ.

A chosen people.

A people filled with knowledge and grace.

Set apart to do His will.

To be fishers of men.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, it does not matter what status we hold in life. Letting everyone know that they are Your disciple is something we all can do. All we must do is follow Your lead. Having the Holy Spirit as our guide. Standing on the Word. As believers we have a mission to complete. One that will not end until You call us home. Help us to remain steadfast no matter what the day may bring. Thank You for the wisdom and strength we receive.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
