Words Of Wisdom

When goods increase, they are increased that eat them: and what good is there to the owners thereof, saving the beholding of them with their eyes?  Ecclesiastes 5:11 KJV

There is a desire for worldly abundance, but this abundance will not satisfy our spiritual desires.  We should endeavor to be rich in the way of the Lord.

We can do this by spending our time in spreading the Word and building up a long-term wealth in Him.

Solomon found this to be true and was speaking from personal experiences.

He tried living for riches and totally forgot that happiness in life is not found in the abundance of the things we possess.

He came to realize that even great wealth could be a disappointment, because material things were not a true measurement of the quality of life.

A person could have it all and still be unhappy.

Solomon also refers to God as the Giver, both of life and its enjoyments.  Showing we ought to receive and use them according to His Will and for His  Glory.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, Let this passage remind us that the riches and wealth we obtain in this life should be used to glorify Your name and spread the Word. Material things mean nothing when we know we are rich through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
