You Need to Know – Wonderful, Unsurpassed Wisdom Available Daily

Read: Acts 17:8-14

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. Acts 17:11 KJV

We all know that going to church is the way most of us receive the Word.

But it doesn’t have to stop there.

For many we have the desire to learn more on our own.

We sit and read the Word as much as possible.

For some we take the time to take short Word breaks.

These are breaks, where we read a small passage.

Ones that allow God’s message to speak to us a little bit at a time.

We are still studying and learning but taking it at a pace that fits our needs.

Daily devotionals still give us knowledge, no matter how short it may be.

For some we are so completely involved in reading the Word that we don’t want to put it down.

We are so involved in reading, we find a comfortable spot, take out our pens and paper and do our own Bible Study.

Finding a topic of interest and doing as much research as possible.

Whatever way we choose to read, study, or meditate on the Word, we still have a desire to learn from the Bible.

As we study the Word, we see that we are not the only ones who have a desire to learn more.

The Jews in Berea made it a point to study the word preached unto them.

They didn’t only hear Paul preach on the sabbath, but daily searched the Scriptures.

Comparing what they read with the facts related to them.

The Lord has no fear about our conducting searches in the Bible.

He encourages us to study.

He has told us, “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV.

Reading the Bible is the greatest way to learn what is true and beneficial for our lives.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, there is so much to be learned in the Bible. It would be wonderful if all the hearers of the gospel would become like the people of Berea. We would be receiving the Word with a readiness of mind. Searching through the Scriptures daily and seeing for ourselves that the Word being preached is true. Help us to open the Book and read a portion of it daily. Getting all the knowledge needed to make it through each day with gladness. There is nothing like having a well-fed soul. Thank You for all that we learn.

In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
