Because that he remembered not to shew mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the broken in heart.
Psalms 109:16 KJV
There will always be a time when a hurting person needs a helping hand.
The circumstances vary in many ways.
They can hit many areas of our lives.
None of us really want to be in the situations that we sometimes find ourselves in.
None of us desire to be the victim of others pointing fingers at them.
To have others talking and accusing them of anything.
That is the type of pain David was expressing in the 109th Psalms.
We all know he went through a multitude of things.
He was complaining to the Lord about his enemies.
There were insensitive people in his life that took advantage of him.
They knew he was hurting and vulnerable.
Even if he had sinned, he still needed to receive their loving prayers.
He needed support, understanding, and good advice.
He didn’t need to be the subject of gossip or made to feel worthless.
To feel as if his life had no value.
We all must remember that the words we speak affect the senses of the body.
They affect the powers of the soul.
They can inflict pain, anguish, horror, and feelings of hopelessness.
David is our example that through it all, the Lord is our main source of help.
He is the comfort for all believers, no matter who is against us.
Giving us all the ability to repent.
We all know that the greatest showing of love is from the Lord.
The same type of forgiving love we all need to show to each other.
To continue to pray and uplift one another in our times of need.
It is the comfort of all believers, that whoever is against them, God is for them.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we face so many obstacles in our lifetime that try to bring us down. Even when the enemy is laughing at us for our devotion to You, we must fight and stay strong. Because of Your love, we can help others that have wounded hearts and need support. Thank You for the blessings You bestow on us all.
In Jesus’ Name We Pray, Amen
