Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. Galatians 4:7 KJV
To be adopted means a person has been legally made a son or daughter of someone other than their birth parents.
They are now in a family that desires to treat them as one of their own.
They are grateful for the love and joy found.
Happy to see themselves as the true heirs of something they can continue to pass on to their children.
When people see or meet them, they know that they are a part of the family.
Spiritually, we have been adopted by God.
The Bible says, He has “redeemed” us so we “might receive the adoption of sons” and if His sons, then “an heir of God through Christ” (vv. 5,7).
“And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together” (Romans 8:17).
There is so much that He desires for our lives.
We receive the riches of God’s mercy, grace, love, care, and compassion, as well as His never-ending presence and peace.
Our relationship with Him is the greatest part of the inheritance.
The knowledge and wisdom He have given us is something we should treasure forever.
When people see us, they know that we are a part of God’s family.
What a privilege it is to be adopted and one of the heirs in the family of God.
It is more precious than anything man can give us.
As His child, we are going to keep all that is noble, good, and uplifting so all will know we are a child of God.
Spiritual adoption.
It is the best thing that could happen to us.
God is the greatest Father to have.
What we inherit is priceless.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we need to tell everyone we meet that we are Your children. Adopted and redeemed for sin. That because You received us as Your own, we have become heirs to the riches of Heaven. Thank You for loving and caring about us. For making us one of Your own.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
