Today’s Reading: Jeremiah 1:1-10
Today’s Verse: “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
Today’s verse is one of the most famous verses in the Bible.
God had deep knowledge of Jeremiah long before he was even conceived or born. That there would be an early call to the work and office of a prophet. He would be set apart for a special purpose.
He would be a prophet, not only to the Jews, but to the neighboring nations.
Psalms 139:13-16 KJV even reminds us that God knows every detail of our lives. That He knew them even before we were born.
The song “You Know My Name” came to heart today. It led me to the Scripture for today.
The song says “He knows my name. And oh, how He walks with me. And oh how He talks with me. And oh, how He tells me that I am His own.”
It also says, “God, You know me. So I trust You with my life. No fire can burn me. No battle can turn me. No mountain can stop me. Because You hold my hand.”
The Word is our greatest reminder that we are intimately known by our Creator. We are uniquely and personally recognized by our names.
The Lord who formed us truly knows for what particular services and purposes the Father intended for each of us.
As the song says, we are walking in victory, because His power is within us. No giant will ever be able to defeat us, because He holds our hand.
It is wonderful to know that, “Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.” Jeremiah 1:5 KJV
He has a purpose for each of our lives. He is always there for us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Heavenly Father, we thank You for the truth that You knew us before we were born. That You loved us long before we ever took our first breath. You set us apart for a unique and holy purpose. Forgive us for the times that we doubted our worth. Anything that has allowed the things of the world to dictate our identity. Remind us that we are not a mistake. That our lives carry deep meaning. We want to be a testament of Your grace. Continue to use us as a light in this world. Guide our steps today and every day. We want to glorify You in all that we do.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
