Always Be Careful

Read: Jude 1:1-13

Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints. Jude 1:3 KJV

Every day we have a need to be careful.

Careful of what we see, hear, and where we go.

In what we are believing.

There are so many scams happening in the world today.

Those that are pretending to care but are only saying it for their gain.

It is hard to trust what someone is telling us.

Especially when it comes to our salvation.

The ways in which we receive our blessings.

The ones that the Lord wishes to give us.

There are those who will try to take advantage of our beliefs.

Because they know we desire a Word from the Lord regarding our situations and how to handle them.

They use our situations to take what they can from us.

Be it of our time or money.

Jude was someone who saw this happening.

He was always writing to the people and spreading spiritual knowledge.

He initially was going to write about salvation.

But became upset when he heard there were false teachers who were taking advantage of God’s people.

That’s when he wrote to the people, trying to tell them about false prophets.

He felt the need to tell them a more urgent message about false prophets and what they were about.

How these false prophets were telling the people that because God had already forgiven them of their sins that it was okay to engage in acts of corruption and dishonesty (v.4).

Warning the people that those so-called preachers were selfish, greedy men who were interested mainly in getting rich quick.

All at the expense of those who were truly trying to live by the Word.

That they were not interested in the people’s well-being.

Telling them how they could protect themselves from their corrupt ways.

Jude had some strong words of anger and disapproval about these false prophets (v. 11).

Hoping that the people would listen.

Unfortunately, there are still many false teachers and organizations around.

We can’t believe everything they are saying.

They know what the needs of many may be.

They know our weak spots.

Watching us to see how we react to something.

Playing on our emotions.

Determining what they can get in return.

They are getting rich off the generosity and faith of believers.

Those who love the Lord and feel they are truly hearing from Him.

Let us be mindful of the warnings Jude has given.

Not everyone is doing the Lord’s work.

Like the false teachers he described, before we support any ministry or organization, we must check them out.

We are to stand firm as believers.

We know that we are blessed to be a blessing.

That the Lord will supply all our needs.

Showing us how we are to how to handle all things.

Prepared for false teachings and difficult times because of our faith in the Lord.

Being grounded in the Word is our protection.

It lets us know what is right and wrong.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we know that there are those who take advantage of our trust in You. Your Word is what we must lean on to verify what is wrong or right. Let us be careful in all our giving. Knowing that Your truth will protect us against the works of the enemy. Protected and strengthened both inside and out.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
