2 Corinthians 1:3,4 KJV
The questions of the day.
Is there anything that can mend a broken heart?
Is there anywhere we can find comfort when sadness darkens our day, or when grief continues to try to overwhelm us?
Can human nature, the wisdom and care of family, friends or fellow co-workers provide the healing we need?
We know that the majority of the time, there is someone around to provide encouragement and support.
It can be helpful, but we soon realize that the inner ache of our soul is still there.
In those times, we are encouraged to come boldly to the throne of grace.
There is One, who is there to mend the broken hearted.
Making it possible for us to obtain mercy, and find grace to help in our time of need.
God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ is that One.
The One who sent His Son to live in this world of heartbreak.
The Lord is able to give peace to the troubled conscience, and can calm the raging passions of the soul.
He does all of this because He went through many temptations and struggles just like us, yet without sin. (Hebrews 4:15)
That is why He can sympathize with our weaknesses and struggles.
Let our experiences encourage faith and hope, and lay us under obligation to trust in God for time to come.
He alone can give us the relief we need for our aching souls.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we all have faced times of weeping, sorrow and pain. We are thankful for the hand of comfort You have given us. Thank You for the wisdom that helps to mend our broken hearts.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
