There are some people who are so well known that they only need to go by one name to be recognized.
They have remained prominent in history because of who they were and what they did.
But there is one name that stands far above these names and any other name!
That is the name of Jesus.
Before the Son of God was born, an angel told Mary and Joseph that He was to be named Jesus, because He would be the one to save the people from their sins. That He would be called the Son of the Most High.
He came, not to be a celebrity, but as a humble servant, who died on the cross so that anyone who would believe on Him could be forgiven and freed from the power of sin.
At the name of Jesus, we should outwardly show special honor and respect to Him, as we do to God the Father.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, in our times of greatest joy and our deepest needs, You are there for us. You will never leave us, and Your love will never fail us. We lift our praise to You and celebrate Your presence and power in our lives today. We value You above all things.
