The Star To Follow

Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. Matthew 2:2 KJV

The wise men searched after Christ. They had seen the star in the east and followed it.

To many they looked foolish as they arrived in Bethlehem with the gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

When they asked about the newly born king of the Jews, and because they were Gentiles, Herod began to question about this birth.

Herod was very old, and never had shown affection for his family, and was not himself likely to live till a new-born infant had grown up to manhood.

He began to be troubled with the dread of a rival and sought to get rid of him.

He did not understand or take the time to learn about the spiritual nature of the Messiah’s kingdom.

He knew that the prophecy was destined to be fulfilled and he did not want it to happen.

Just like the wisemen, we would be wise to have a heart’s desire for the knowledge of Christ. Making it our business to learn of Him and worship Him.

To take the time to learn of Christ by reading and adhering to the Word.

It is the light that shineth in a dark place, and by seeking the teaching of the Holy Spirit we learn about His coming, His desires for us and how to worship Him.

 A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, let us beware of a dead faith. Such a belief will make us uneasy, and the more resolved to oppose the truth. Help us to understand and take the time to learn about the spiritual nature of the Messiah’s kingdom and the prophecy it is destined to fulfill.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
