2 Chronicles 16:9 KJV
The Lord is displeased when He is not trusted, and when flesh is relied upon, more than His power and goodness. Especially when we know He has been there for us every step of the way.
That is what Asa was doing when he sought the aid of the Syrians.
The prophet of the Lord gave him a plain and faithful reproof for making a league with Syria. That the Lord was not pleased with his actions.
The Lord does the same with us.
Yes, there will be those who try to be there for us, but it is foolish for us to lean totally on others, when we have the Rock of ages to rely upon. He is there all the time.
As we face our own battles and the challenges, that life brings, let us remember that the Lord is our best ally.
He strengthens us when we need it most, but we must keep our trust in Him.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, we tend to depend on others to be there for us and only come to You when we have no one else to trust. In all conflicts and sufferings, we need to look deep down in our own hearts, that they may be made perfect towards You, by faith, patience, and obedience. Like the prophet told Asa, there is no reason to distrust You. You are a Powerful Helper. By our side all the time. Thank You Savior.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
