Walking Through

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.  Psalms 23:4 KJV

King David often wrote and/or sang a sacred song or hymn unto God.

He knew God as a good shepherd, feeding and leading his flock.  Knowing each of us by name. A protector showing grace and care.

He knew that there is an appointed time for each of us to walk through the valley of the shadow of death.

That even though death is seen as a severe, terrible, dark affliction, it really is not.

We need to remind ourselves that a shadow is defined as a dark area or shape produced by a body coming between rays of light and a surface. Not something that actually touches us to do us harm.

And a valley, is a low area of land between hills or mountains, typically with a river or stream flowing through it and often fruitful.

As we walk through the shadows of the valley of death, we have the comforts of God, knowing that nothing will touch us and our flow to the other side will be fruitful.  We have nothing to fear.

Death is our safe walk through the valley, leading to eternal life with our Heavenly Father.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Heavenly Father, we know we all must take this walk some day. Our comfort is in knowing that you are walking with us and we shall not be lost.  You are the great shepherd leading His flock, rebuking the enemy and leading us home. Thank you Father.

In Jesus name we pray, Amen
