Talk with God and Watch Him Move

Read: Isaiah 64:1-8

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence. Isaiah 64:1 KJV

It may be hard for some to believe, but we all have questions and doubts that we need to talk to God about.

Times when our faith is being tested.

We continue to read or hear about the violence all over the world and wonder when it will end.

We think the same about our own situations, that are troubling, and still bothering us. When will they end?

Because we don’t see things happening or changing the way we think they should, we wonder if our praying is in vain.

We begin to really wonder if God hears us when we pray.

Asking, “Am I wasting my time?” “Do I need to do it myself?” “When will things change?”

That is how Israel was feeling.

The Babylonian Empire had, by superior force, taken over Israel, and the people were having doubts about God helping them.

They were at the point where their faith was being challenged.

The Prophet Isaiah could see what was happening and spoke words to their doubts.

He had previously remembered and reminded them of how God had brought Moses and his people out of the situation they were in and how their prayers were answered (Isaiah 63:11-15).

He began to pray and ask God to manifest Himself to them.

His prayer was bold asking, “Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence” (Isaiah 64:1).

Isaiah’s pain and sorrow, his desire to see the people’s faith restored, drove him not to pull away from God, but to seek to draw closer to Him.

We all have our doubts and troubles, but they are used to reveal how lost we sometimes are.

They show us how much we really need God to move in our lives.

God has been angry with us for the sins we have committed and justly so.

But His anger will end when we put our trust in Him and returned to His ways.

In Jesus, He did open the heavens and come to us.

Christ sacrificed His life for us so He could forgive us of our sins and doubts, showering us with His love.

No matter what we are going through, keep the faith.

In Jesus, God is always nearby.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Father, please remove all our fears of disappointment. Making it where we no longer pretend that we can manage our lives on our own. It only brings us more pain and grief. We need to stand on the Word and let things in its appointed time be seen. You have all the answers and will supply all of our needs. All our happiness is already designed by You. Thank You Father.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
