But I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. Psalms 13:5 KJV
Questions: It is something that we say or write to ask another person about something.
No matter our age, we all have them.
Our questions deal with many things in our lives.
Most often we start asking questions when we find ourselves in a position where it seems like our challenges in life appear to be never-ending.
We start asking the questions, “Why” and “How much longer do we have to go through it.”
That is how David was feeling.
He asked this question “how long” four times in two verses (vv.1-2).
He was feeling like he had been forgotten, forsaken, and defeated.
Crying out to God, “How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and day after day have sorrow in my heart?” (v.2).
When we look at how David was able to cry out to God, it shows us that we have the same permission to worshipfully come to Him with questions of our own.
There is no better person to have a conversation with during our times of stress and difficulties.
God will always welcome us to bring our questions to Him.
He is always listening to what we have to say.
We can bring our health concerns, grief, concerns for our loved ones and any other matters in our lives to Him.
Our worship does not stop when we have questions.
It brings us closer to God.
Causing us to trust and praise Him for all that He will do in our lives.
And just like David, in the end, we will be able to say, “I have trusted in thy mercy; my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation. I will sing unto the LORD, because he hath dealt bountifully with me” (vv. 5-6).
Bring your questions to God.
He is waiting to hear them.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know when we bring our cares and concerns to the throne of grace that by leaving them there it will result in our burdens being removed. We may not see it right away, but we know that things can only get better. We must trust and believe. By faith, we know that Your mercy will fill our hearts with joy and peace. That our comfort will be restored. Thank You for salvation and Your saving grace.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
