Serving Christ Means Serving People

Read: Matthew 25:37-43

And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Matthew 25:40 KJV

It is always a good feeling to be able to do something for someone else.

Be it telling a cashier that you want them to put the change towards the purchase of the person behind you.

Knowing that your child’s school is going on a field trip and there may be one whose parents may be unable to afford it and you sponsor them.

In any case where kindness is shown, there is the great feeling that we know that the Lord is pleased with our actions.

Pleased because He has told us that whenever we do something for someone else, we are doing it unto Him also (v.40).

It is to our benefit to remember that the Lord is the great Shepherd and live according to the Word.

That He is the Provider of all things.

He is looking at how we conduct ourselves to identify those that are His.

Life and death, good and evil, the blessings and the curses, are all set before us.

We must choose our way.

Knowing the way, we choose determines how our end will be.

The good works we do for God’s sake, through Christ, shows our character has been made holy by the Spirit of Christ.

Let us be the one He bestows grace on, because we have done as He says.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, help us to remember that sometimes the small, simple things that we do can mean more to someone else than we will ever know. That whatever I do for others, I am doing for You. Our hearts desire is to live according to You Word. Thank You for the grace and mercy You bestow on all of us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
