The Center of Our Worship

Read: Colossians 1:15-23

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. Colossians 1:17 KJV

There will be times when someone may ask us why we give Jesus such a place of honor in our lives.

Our response should be one that tells them about our relationship with Him.

How without Him our lives would be without meaning.

That is because of what Jesus did, we meet, all together, and give Him praise.

We could even show them in the Word, who Jesus is and what He has done.

The fact that others who had faith in God, were asked the same questions and what their responses were.

The Apostle Paul was one such example.

We can read the response that he gave, in Colossians One, when he was asked about Jesus.

He spoke to the fact that no one has seen God, but Jesus came to reflect and reveal Him (v.15).

How Jesus, the Son of God, came to die for and free us from our sins.

The sins that have caused us to be separated from God’s holiness.

How our peace would only come through someone perfect.

There was only One who was, and still is, perfect.

That is our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ (vv.14, 20).

It is good to know that He has given us what no one else could.

Access to God and eternal life (John 17:3).

That is the reason that He deserves a place of honor in our lives.

He defeated death, the sins and temptations that might come our way.

In our hearts, we should be forever grateful for the love He has shown us.

For the sacrifices He made.

For how He gives us new strength each day of our lives.

The Lord is everything we need and more.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Savior, we give You the glory because You deserve it. We lift You up because it is Your rightful place. You are our Savior and our Lord, and we want to always give You the highest place of honor in our lives. Thank You for all You have done and will do in our lives.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
