It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23 KJV
In this passage the Prophet, Jeremiah, is stating his distress and temptations.
Remembering all the things he had been through.
How he struggled to figure out why they were happening.
How, in the end, he was raised above it.
The same can occur in our lives.
Things happen in our lives every day that can make us feel like the prophet did.
We find it hard to understand why things are happening the way they are.
Wondering how we will make it through it all.
It is hard to believe, but afflictions can and does work for our good.
Those are the times we must remind ourselves; things could be worse.
That sometimes they are happening because it is God’s way of lovingly getting our attention.
Helping us renew our trust in Him.
A wake-up call, reminding us of where our strength lies.
He wants our lives to be blessed each day.
That is why each morning He is blessing us with new mercies.
Providing us with everything we need.
It is happening because we get so caught up in the things of life.
We lose sight and forget about all that He has done and is doing for us.
Wanting things to happen when we want them.
Stressing over things that He has already taken care of.
We just haven’t seen them yet.
The Lord is teaching us to patiently wait.
When we learn to be patient, peace abounds in our lives.
A peace that endures forever.
No matter what we are going through, our comfort will come.
It comes when we hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the Lord.
For Him to reveal all that He desires and knows is best for our lives.
His faithfulness is our strength for today.
His faithfulness is our bright hope for tomorrow.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, we know that the different situations we face in life happen for a reason. You allow them to happen to increase our faith in You. Help us to trust You even when we don’t understand why they are happening. You know what is best for our lives. You are faithful and only want the best for us. Thank You Father.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
