Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife. Matthew 1:24 KJV
There are many who still do not believe that Mary was a virgin when she gave birth to Jesus.
They feel that a miracle like a virgin birth is not in line with the course of nature.
Dismissing the gospel accounts as the imagination of those writers to be lacking the insight of modern science.
It’s true, we have come a long way in scientific knowledge.
We know that Joseph and the men who wrote the New Testament really knew what it took to produce a baby.
If we think about it Joseph lost his confidence in Mary’s fidelity to him when he learned that she was pregnant and set to “put her away privly” (v.18-20).
But before it could happen, while Joseph was sleeping, an angel of the Lord stepped in and assured him that the conception came about by the Holy Spirit.
That he should keep her to be his wife.
It was a miracle being performed by God.
When Joseph rose from his sleep, he did as the angel of the Lord had told him and took Mary to be his wife (v.24).
Christ came to save us, not in our sins, but from our sins.
To redeem us to Himself and separate us from sinners.
Just like Joseph did as the angel of the Lord told him, we should take heed to what the Lord is telling us.
We should act speedily, without delay, and cheerfully, without dispute.
All the steps of our lives should be taken in the direction God has for us.
When we do, we shall find our lives to be one that is safe and comfortable.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Ok Father, we know that there are many who don’t believe the story of the Savior’s birth. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost. But You made it possible. It was a miracle. We pray that those who still don’t believe this miracle happened, will come to have faith to believe the impossible can happen. When we fail to do so, we live in spiritual darkness. We don’t want this to happen. Let us believe in You and the Lord. Experiencing one of our own.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
