Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer. Romans 12:12 KJV
Growing up, the church I was a member at had a time set aside for “altar call”.
Many churches still do.
It was a time when everyone was invited to bring anything and everything to the Lord.
Some individuals would stand before the church and ask for the saints to pray with them regarding the situation they were facing.
We all would be in prayer with one another.
Even if a person did not feel comfortable sharing their situation with the congregation, it was hoped that they would find a “prayer partner”.
One they knew they could call on to pray with them.
As we prayed, we would be asking for the comfort and strength we all needed.
The Lord has told us that the love of a Christian to each other should be sincere and truthful.
Many of us have quite a few things we are praying about daily.
Some we feel are going unanswered.
But the Father is taking care of them.
Just not in our timeframe.
That is where our patience come in.
When we draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, we will make it.
It shows our devotion and trust to God as a loving Father.
Knowing that He does care, is listening and He is answering prayers.
Giving us even more reason to rejoice in hope.
He is urging us to continue to walk closely with Him.
Being joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer (Hebrews 12:12).
To be there for one another.
Just like He is there for all of us.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, You have told us that we can come to You in prayer, no matter the day or the hour. Help us to be persistent in doing this. Not just for ourselves, but so we can also be faithful partners in prayer for one another. Thank You Savior.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
