Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28 KJV
We all need to sit back and take notice of the fact that we sometimes become overly dependent on things.
Things like, food, drink, people, work, or anything else good or bad.
Someone or something we can trust and rely on being there for us in a time of need.
As Christians, our greatest security should be in God.
Relying on His invisible means of support.
We are not to be burdened with guilt and fear.
The support of the Lord is there for us all day and all night, no matter the hour.
Jesus has invited us all to exchange our dependencies for the liberating burdens of His yoke (Matthew 11:29).
Grant it, for some of us, it may take years, perhaps even a lifetime to understand how healthful it is to give it to the Lord.
That, in time, we will find that the more we lean on Him, the more we will experience blessings.
Feeling the wholeness that comes from directing our dependencies toward Him.
As He said, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
You know with rest, comes power.
A power that only comes from the Lord.
A power that gives us the ability to overcome any dependencies.
The invitation is still open.
What are you waiting for?
You know you want to go.
Don’t delay.
You should plan to attend.
You’ll be glad you did.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, You are always sending out invitations for us to come to You. To come no matter what time, it is. Come when we are feeling guilt and misery. That we can seek You, believing in Your love and power to help us. Anticipating the relief, we will feel when we give it all to You. Even when we just want to spend a precious moment with You. Thank You Savior for the open invitation.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
