Reconciliation

Read: Philemon

I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides. Philemon 1:19 KJV

Onesimus was a servant to Philemon.

He is said to have taken some things from Philemon and ran away from him.

While on his journey, he met Paul.

After meeting Paul and having many conversations with him, he became a Christian.

Their friendship grew even more.

Paul would have been glad to keep Onesimus, but he knew he couldn’t.

Paul and Philemon were very close.

Philemon was Paul’s son in the faith but was even more like a brother.

He knew Philemon was kindhearted.

He felt it would be better to send Onesimus back to Philemon.

That is why he sent a letter with Onesimus.

Explaining that Onesimus knew what he had done was wrong.

That he had changed his ways.

He had hopes that Philemon would forgive him for what he had done.

For his running away.

Hopes that the two of them would settle their differences as Christian brothers.

As Christians we should all want to give joy to the hearts of one another.

There are many things in the world that will give us trouble.

When we feel the leverage of God’s love tugging at our hearts, let us praise Him.

Asking Him to help us remember each day the price He paid for our sins.

Praising Him for His goodness and seek to obey Him in all that we do.

Let us find comfort, compassion and understanding in one another.

Keeping our trust and hope in God.

Sharing the blessings and love we receive each day.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, we ask that You help us each day to remember the price You paid for us on Calvary. That we are one with You. Forgiving each other as You forgive us. Making it possible to receive blessings form above. Thank You Lord.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
