Encouragement Always Needed

Read: Deuteronomy 3:23-29

But charge Joshua, and encourage him, and strengthen him: for he shall go over before this people, and he shall cause them to inherit the land which thou shalt see. Deuteronomy 3:28 KJV

There will always be a time when someone is dealing with something.

A word of encouragement and appreciation can make the difference between someone giving up or going on.

We all need it.

It helps to uplift someone when they are feeling down or facing a new challenge.

Giving them the boost, they need when they feel their dreams are out of reach.

Encouragement can be displayed in our homes, or at work.

Knowing we all must be strong and keep pushing on.

Our encouragement means more than we know.

In today’s Scripture, we see how Moses encouraged Joshua.

Joshua was about to assume leadership of the Israelites.

He was feeling nervous about filling Moses shoes.

He did not think he would be as good as Moses was in that position.

But the Lord saw something in him.

The Lord placed it on the heart of Moses to give Joshua a word of encouragement.

Letting him know that he could do it.

There are many who crave a small sign of approval.

It can be a word of recognition, a caring smile, or even a warm handshake.

Letting them know that you are keeping them in your prayers.

Hoping they have a great day.

That words could not express how proud you are of them.

Some way of giving an honest expression of appreciation for the good we see in them or in their work.

Everyday, we should desire to show encouragement to at least one person.

A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, our words of encouragement or even a warm smile, can change the atmosphere around us. We never know what someone is going through. They may be feeling like they are not appreciated. That no one cares. Every day, let us be determined to encourage at least one person. It is good when we are there to encourage one another. To offer a ray of hope. Everyone may not receive it. At least we tried.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
