My Bishop is always reminding us to get with someone to be a “Prayer Warrior’ with.
Someone that you can relate with and feel comfortable expressing your concerns.
We have even joined hands with someone during the service and prayed for one another.
Being there for each other when we need encouragement, or a friendly correction of our faults is what the Lord wants us to do.
We warm each other’s hearts while talking about the love of Christ and singing His praises.
The joy and peace that it brings, just to know that someone cares enough about us to take time out of their schedule to do this.
It also prepares us to be there to help someone else that may need a friendly shoulder to lean on.
But it gets even better.
We are not alone.
Our efforts result in a threefold cord.
A threefold cord is when one individual gets with another individual and God is the center of it all.
God is the first link to assist in the communications that we make.
Be it marriage, friendships or church fellowship.
He is in there during it all. No matter the situation.
A fellowship that is not easily broken.
That is what Solomon was telling us when he spoke about how he struggled with the toils and frustrations of the world.
His words encourage us to share our journey with others, so we don’t have to face the trials of life by ourselves.
Someone you can trust to tell all our troubles too.
A friend nearby that can help us get back up when we fall.
They won’t let us give up.
A “Prayer Warrior” that, in the end, you can share a song of praise and victory with.
The Lord has even told us in Matthew 18:20, “For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.”
It is good to know that when we sin and get off track, that there is a fellow believer, closely joined in holy love and fellowship, praying for and with us.
Prayer changes things.
Going to church is encouraged but it is good to know that we don’t have to have a large crowd for God to listen to us and answer our prayers.
A WORD OF PRAYER
Lord, having someone around us is the best way to face the struggles that come into our lives. It is a blessing to know we have someone who will be there to encourage and support us. Thank You Savior for creating a threefold cord.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
