It is often hard to have hope during troubling times.
We want to give up and call it quits.
Those are the times we must stand strong and not be defeated.
In every trial let us call upon the Lord.
He is always there to comfort and save us.
He will hear us, and not blame us for coming to Him.
He would rather we come to Him than to suffer through our afflictions.
When He answers, we are to remember what He has told us so we can make it through if it tries to hinder us again.
In Psalms 55, David is sharing how he continued in hope while he was going through.
David had thought all were against him and wanted to flee.
His experience was enough to break him emotionally.
If it had not been a natural reaction for him to pray, he would have been lost.
His prayer was one giving God the glory for being the one who gave him the strength and love he needed to be saved.
Like David, many of us may want to flee to safety during our storms.
When trouble comes, we must remember that the God of all comfort is able to carry us through our darkest moments and deepest fears.
After considering all that we are going through, we must choose to take it to the Lord in prayer.
He has promised us in Revelation 21:4 that He will wipe away every one of our tears.
Giving us the strength to sing a song like David did saying, “As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me” (v16).
A WORD OF PRAYER
Father, sometimes life feels overwhelming and when it does give me the strength to make it through. Thank You for giving us the ability to be in Your presence and comfort, for without You, we would be lost. We put our trust in You.
In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
