Something Is Better Than Nothing

And thence sailed to Antioch, from whence they had been recommended to the grace of God for the work which they fulfilled. Acts 14:26 KJV

It is not uncommon that at the end of the year, we have the burden of uncompleted tasks weighing us down. The responsibilities we have at home, or on our jobs may seem never ending.  Sometimes we just need to pause and be thankful for the things we were able to complete.

The same holds true in our spiritual journey.  There will be times in our faith journey when we need to pause and celebrate God’s faithfulness and the tasks we have completed.

A great example that this can be done, is the first missionary journey of Paul and Barnabas.

They sailed back to Antioch, where they were committed to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. They knew they still had much to do in sharing the message of Jesus to others, but still took the time to give thanks for what had been done.

They even took it a step further. They gathered the church together and reported all that God had done through them. How God had opened a door of faith to the Gentiles.

Take the time to look back and see what God has done through you during this past year. Reminiscing on how He has opened the doors of faith for someone you know and love. He has been there for us in way we could never imagine.

We are all aware of our unfinished tasks in serving the Lord, just never forget to give thanks for the ways He has worked through and continues to work through us.

Rejoice over what God has done by His grace and will do in times to come.

 A WORD OF PRAYER

Lord, as we approach the end of the year, we give thanks to You for all that You have done in and through us. By Your grace we live and await to see what is to come. You are always at work in and through us.

In Jesus Name We Pray, Amen
